Just a quick sketchbook dump of my notes from the lecture with Robert Bradbrook. I adore his lectures, and the fact that this one was in person made it even better. His energy is contagious, and it really kick started some ideas for my own stories in animation.

The whole lecture felt quite philosophical in a lot of ways, exploring ideas of humanity, self, beginnings and endings. I am definitely drawn personally to the character vs self conflict when it comes to my own work, but what I find interesting is that most of my work so far I have leaned into lighthearted and comedic stories, so I’m interested to see, when I sit down and start thinking about my final film, which direction it will go in.
